WAR

Think a second about how simracing leagues are organized: a group of people, enthusiasts of simracing , meet to start making a schedule and a format they like based  on their preferences, develop a (too long) document with rules and release it to the community to try to find drivers.

Then the league starts and they realize that the time to control all the rules they set is much more than they expected, so the rules start to be less and less strict to the point  where people are willing to cheat as an advantage over people who don’t cheat, even if they know they won’t be caught.

Most common consequence are that the league has a lot of entries but after a few dates only the guys in the top spots continue racing (and only because they are there), even if they don’t think the league is going good or is well organized.

That’s because penalties, a very controversial subject but basic for clean racing and other important decisions are made by admins with the best of intentions, but without a special understanding or knowledge of what they are doing. This creates an “opposing” movement inside the league, like in every dictatorship.

That’s where the WAR management style enters. What WAR attempts to achieve is league rules with democratic procedures using WEB 2.0 behaviour that we all know from other communities. When you are on WAR, all the league stuff turns around you to make you the centre of the world. You can race, but you also have a voice and can vote on penalties applied to other drivers. You decide on the schedule and the tracks to be raced. You can publish your news and impressions of the league in newscenter, upload your multimedia content to the leagues home page… YOU become an important person in the league, as all real drivers are.

WAR stands for WeAll”R” involved in the league and have the power to decide and contribute.

WAR system is not a technical thing but a way of thinking, so can be applied to any kind of league with any kind of web support. Just contact your WAR advisor and he will help you to change your league procedures to obtain certification.
